My Shop-Window Cake

So at the Last Drop Village wedding fair a few weeks ago I met a lovely and very talented florist called Victoria who is the owner of Lancashire Floristry www.lancashirefloristry.co.uk who generously asked me if I'd like to make a display cake to go in her shop window!

She had a vision to create a gorgeous deep teal and hot pink display. My hubby delivered the cake to Victoria's shop yesterday and I just love the result but don't take my word for it, see for yourselves and let me know what you think! xx

I'm a little teapot!!!

Well here it is, my teapot cake and I hope you'll all agree it looks fabulous, even if I do say so myself!!

It was raffled at a WIP (Women in Property) event at the lovely BHive Club in Manchester organised by my good friend Claire Beaumont. The mini cakes I made for people to eat whilst networking went down a treat too!

What to do next I wonder?!! Rach xx

So tonight I'm attempting to make a teapot cake to raffle tomorrow evening at a corporate event in Manchester with 40 lovely ladies! So far so good, fingers crossed!!

The Lace Cake!

Well yesterday was the wedding of Sarah & Evan, a lovely couple who got married in Didsbury and had their reception at the fabulous Radisson Edwardian Hotel in Manchester city centre. Shame about the weather but hopefully they had a lovely day. As Sarah's dress was quite lacy, she wanted the cake to match so an ivory and white lace cake it was!!

The cake was to have some gorgeous white peonies placed on top when the florist arrived which I'm sure will have topped it all off!!

Congrats to both of them! xx

The Naked Cake is here!!

Well as my big bro got married to his lovely bride Sarah in a small but beautiful affair in Devon, they decided to have a more informal do at my parents house in North Yorkshire for a much larger crowd. The Pimms was flowing, the sun shining and the BBQ flaming!!

So, as this was the only opportunity for many people to see the happy couple, I thought it only appropriate to make them a second wedding cake to go with their second special day.

I decided to make a lovely Naked Cake, that being it's a stunning four tier victoria sponge sandwiched with raspberry jam and vanilla buttercream and decorated with fresh fruit and pink roses. I was really happy with the result and really pleased that James and my new Sister-in-Law (he he) were too!!

Oh and by the way, this cake is available to order, I think it would be perfect for a vintage themed summer wedding!! www.macakecompany.co.uk
